Introduction
It is God’s will for you to be in good health, mentally, physically, and emotionally. For me personally, the physical body is one of the most difficult areas to maintain. When I was in the world and prideful, it was easy to sustain bodily health. I was in the gym six days a week, abstained from sugar and greasy food, had muscles, and was physically fit, but emotionally and mentally a wreck. I had spiritual covenants of perversion that kept me conscious of being “sexy.” I took pride in the way I looked and who would look at me kept me motivated, but this motivation was impure. My body was not governed by the will of God. Later, I took a stand for Jesus, and the enemy turned up the heat, fighting hard to keep me from being physically whole. When you take a stand for God, the enemy will fight for territory in your body. The devil wants to use your body or kill you prematurely through not managing your health. I'm from Louisiana, where food is a big part of our culture and people take pride in our cooking! However, there's also a spiritual stronghold here that causes health issues, premature death, infirmities, and obesity. Today, our food contains bioengineered ingredients that harm our health and can even be fatal. There are also spiritual forces working against God's plan for us to live long, healthy lives. These evil powers attack us unless we are fortified in Christ Jesus. It's time to be proactive, discipline our bodies, and honor ourselves as living sacrifices. Sometimes we focus too much on the spiritual and neglect our physical health, but both are important. God wants you to live long and be physically fit for your calling and kingdom. Therefore, this devotional was written to build up your faith in what God says and promises about your health, so that you would be empowered to take the steps forward to make necessary changes.

Building Your Faith to Build Your Health

Romans 8:11 (AMP): 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

The Holy Spirit is God, and you carry His resurrection power in your physical life and well-being. This same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead can transform your physical existence. If the Spirit that resurrected Jesus lives in you, then it also has the power to revive your mortal body. Selah! The Holy Spirit’s role goes beyond your spiritual rebirth to include your physical vitality and health.

God brings life to your mortal bodies. The Holy Spirit’s presence within you revitalizes your spirit and body, offering strength, healing, and renewal. This assurance, activated by faith, means the Holy Spirit’s life-giving power touches every part of your being. View your body and health in the light of your spiritual life one with the Spirit of God. Your physical well-being is connected to your spiritual health through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s presence offers not only spiritual guidance and growth but also impacts your physical energy, health, and resilience (Selah). During times of weakness or illness, remember that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within you, bringing restoration and life even to your mortal body. This truth provides peace and strength when you seek Godly change in your body.

Consider how to nurture the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life. Engage in scriptural practices that build your faith in both your spiritual and physical well-being. Pray, meditate, worship, and intentionally consecrate your body and soul. Your physical existence is deeply connected to your spiritual life through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is actively working to bring life, vitality, and healing to your physical body, profoundly integrating your physical and spiritual well-being.
